Green Apples

He bit into a green apple
the apple leaked of blood
a brown worm’s body
Coiled about the core

He choked on the green apple
as he drank of the blood
the stomach became distended
as he dropped to the ground

An army of worms erupted
from the naval of his belly
they flowed from every orifice
His screams to the heavens unheard

It was on the eve of Christmas
that this man did die
His last conscience thought

I should have bought red apples
